The Forgotten Child Finding Love ~ The Outsider Series Book 1 edition by Lorhainne Eckhart Literature Fiction eBooks

I give this 3 1/2 stars. This book is about a women finding out she's been in a dead end marriage, files for divorce, & as luck would have it gets a nanny position. Throughout the book we see her struggles. First with the heros son, which later on we learn he has autism. Second, her draw towards the hero. Third, a small amount dealing with the money & custody. Fourth, the crazy wife of the hero!! We do get to see some struggles the hero goes through. Now with all that said I was a little disappointed in the book. One, and my biggest problem, is the wife proves over & over she lies, yet the heroine is so naive she believes her EVERYTIME! Ugh, I just wanted to throw the book. Second, she gets so heart broken & crys all night over the hero, yet didn't shed a tear over her lost marriage. To me I feel even though you may not love or feel the same for that person anymore, you still weep some for the lose of it. Third, I just didn't really connect to the hero. For me there wasn't a lot to like about him. He was to unstable. All in all it read well, just not Oh My Gosh! Thank you! For reading & hope it helps😄

The Forgotten Child Finding Love ~ The Outsider Series Book 1 edition by Lorhainne Eckhart Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

What an absolutely touching story. Emily leaves an empty marriage taking with her the most important thing, her daughter, Katy. She answers an ad that looked made for her; a cook and caregiver to a toddler. She meets Brad Friessen, a father so committed to his child Trevor, and her employer. He hires her on the spot. Within days she realizes that Trevor is a special child with special needs. Her initial obstacle was getting Brad to recognize the problem. How do you tell a man that his son has serious problems? How do you care for your own daughter in the middle of the chaos? When he does accept the truth, you can feel his heart break. You'll want to cry. You can feel his pain. Then the author takes you on an emotional ride through the therapies and testings, and the return of his wife -- a woman he wants nothing to do with since she abandoned him and their child. Emily and Brad go through enormous pain and misunderstandings intentionally caused by Crystal, his ex-wife. She wants back in for the money Brad has. He's determined to file for divorce and get rid of Crystal once and for all. Brad and Emily realize they love each other, but are both afraid of Crystal's threats to take Trevor and put him into a special school, locked away from Brad if she doesnt get what she wants. Brad finally takes a stand and gets Crystal out of his life. His only fear is that he may have lost Emily. But, rather than give away the ending, I think you'll join me in thanking Ms. Eckhart for adding a novella at the end of this book that ties up all the loose ends. You'll go from sad tears to happy tears, see reunions between family long apart. Grab this book and a box of tissues and enjoy!
I really enjoyed this book. It is based on a child named Trevor, who is autistic. He is an incredible boy but it is difficult to raise an autistic three year old child. The scenarios were very real, the emotions were all over the place, you can feel the hurt, the deception so you understand how they feel, which makes easy to understand and follow.

Brad owns several hundred acres, in the Oregon hills outside Olympia and they
loved it there, because it was so beautiful. Brad has much bigger problems at the moment and he is unsure of his actions. It has been a very rocky ride trying to raise and understand Trevor and his outbursts especially since his wife left over 2 years ago. Brad is running his ranch business, running his crew and taking care of his son. It wasn't easy.
Unexpectedly his wife Chrystal, returns and moves back in on the ranch. She thinks she is in control of things, giving orders, using one of the crew as a spy behind Brad's back. Telling people in town lies about the past and even what is happening in his home.
Brad had recently hired Emily to be a live-in Nanny. This doesn't sit well with Chrystal and causes chaos in the house. Emily moves out and gets a job in town; and it's not long and Chrystal gets her fired. And that's just the half of it. Get the book. You'll be up all night wondering what is next.
Thank you Lorhainne for another great story.
I really wanted to like this book. But I couldn't get past the language or the unlikely nature of the storyline. How could a woman with a 2-year-old child agree to be a live-in nanny without ever meeting the child or seeing where she would live? How could an educated man not see that his child needed more help than he could provide on his own? And how could he hire a nanny for that child without ever seeing if there was a connection between the child and nanny? It just wasn't logical and I couldn't finish the book.
The writing was the #1 problem for me. 5 comma's in 1 sentence, only 2 were actually needed. Switched between first and third person narration a few times. Lots of run-on and incomplete sentences. This book could have used an amazing editor, and because it didn't have one I could not get past page 42.

#2 problem for me which contributed to why I didn't finish the book is the lack of story and character development. Several times claims were made that the "hero" was a jerk, yet the reader meets him the same time as the narrator and the narrator fails to explain how he is a jerk. The narrator has an embarrassing scene with a purse tipping out, yet there was no explanation why she was messing with her purse to begin with. The author may as well have added "Then Emily jumped on an elephant and it threw her off" because they equally make the same amount of sense for what one had to do with the scene. It was situations such as this that had me cringing page after page.

It was on sale when I bought it, and I still want my money back. However, I have a colleague who doesn't pay attention to little details like I do and she enjoyed it. So some will enjoy this book, but most assuredly not me.
