Another hit from Jodi Drake! This is the second book of the Darkness series and let me tell you, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. The first book in this trilogy ended with a heck of a cliff hanger and this picked right up there. Great detail and I totally felt the emotions of all the characters. Love Emily and Seth!!! Can't wait for the third and final book. I'm sure it will be awesome! If you haven't read these books, you need to! And her other series as well, Broken Trilogy! The end of this book had a small cliffy but more of a WTH moment!!!! She gives you an answer to the mystery but I was like WHAT?????? Great continuation!

Wow!!! I am so glad I got to read this book. If you like it dark, sexy and dangerous and suspense this the book for you, this book had me on the edge of my seat from the very beginning, the was always another mystery around the corner, driving me crazy. The story builds up very fast and takes you on crazy ride twists and horror could not put this book down. The chemistry between Emily and Seth can be felt though the pages as you are reading. Job well done!
Emily is trapped. Taken by the man whose obsessed over her for months and Seth is made to watch the psychos little show with her. I found myself so angry for Emily and angry at Seth haha. I could not put it down and often reread the whole series when I'm in between books. You won't be disappointed with Seth and Emily story.
Omg where do I start with this one?You have to read the book one first, cause this is a sequel.
The book just unfolds in front of you,like I commented on the first book,it is soooo well written that you think you are watching a movie!!!The characters progress further,and we learn more stuff about their pasts.Action packed,inner monologues are to get you goose bumps,and the psychos are on a roll!I have downloaded the third part and I'm starting to read it like right now!!!What a page turner!!!
Is it wrong to say I missed Lasko? He made the story so much more entertaining. Seth and Emily drove me nuts in this book! Hopefully, they can keep it together in the next one. I hated seeing Seth so conflicted with everything. I wanted to smack the crap out of Emily for going off on her own. Ahhhhh!!! My stomach is in knots right now!!! I wonder if I will end up back in the basement in the next book? It's about to go down!! I just know it!!
I just couldn't put this book down. It keep me enthralled all the way through trying to guess who was really after Emily. While this book had everything to do with the love between Seth and Emily, don't look for many love scenes, there is only one and it hot but short. Seth continues to struggle with allowing his love for Emily to distract him from protecting her. His boss and at least one co-worker warm him to be careful, but one of them might have an ulterior motive. I am sorry the next book is not yet ready to preorder.
This book picks up where the cliffhanger from the first book gutted us. Shocking twist and turns with edge of your seat suspense. You can just feel the emotions coming through the words. I'm not going to give to many detail away as I think it would take away from the story.
After being disappointed with the first book in this series, I approached the second with hope and trepidation. This book was much better than the first, mainly because most of the book revolves around the abduction of the main character. When the author is writing about the perpetrator, that is when her writing is best, though very dark.

I was hoping that the characters would evolve and mature after the traumas but that didn't seem to happen that much. I still have a lot of trouble empathizing with Emily who acts as if there isn't a really dangerous psychopath after her or it's just not important enough to not go out and have a good time. Even her character realizes her behavior is immature and selfish but how many times does she have to be abducted and proven wrong to stop acting that way?

I was glad the book got deeper into Seth's family; that was enjoyable to read and help explain his character. I have tried hard to not keep comparing these books to the Broken trilogy as I believe this was written much earlier and it's not fair to do that. In its own right, this book is suspenseful and there is a web of corruption and psychopathy that slowly unfolds and is the best part of the series. Since this one was so much better than the first, I'm counting on the third book to be incredible.
