The Gods of Dream An Epic Fantasy eBook Daniel Arenson

Boring. This is the only word this book needs to describe it. It had an interesting description and amazing reviews on amazon so I thought I would give it a try. Big mistake. It took me a month and a half to read this as I would read 5 pages and then literally fall asleep. This is an extremely long time for me to read a book as I usually read a book in one sitting. The only reason I finished reading this was I think that in order to appropriately write a review you need to read the whole book.

The majority of this book would have been more appropriate for a child. I felt like the author didn't tackle the big topics that make you fall in love with a book. The author did not let me connect with the characters rendering them useless, they could live, die or fall in love and I wouldn't care. For me I love when a book makes me feel something whether happy or sad. All this book made me feel was angry for wasting my time.

Clearly would not recommend this book especially if your a fan of YA as this book just wont cut it

The Gods of Dream An Epic Fantasy eBook Daniel Arenson Reviews

One of my favorite things to find in a fantasy or sci-fi novel is a well-crafted world. The world of Dream in Arenson's book is filled with beautiful imagery. Even Nightmare, while not a place one would want to visit, felt like a real place. These worlds help me to get into a book, when I can imagine myself walking the same paths as the characters. The characters were also great.

This was my first time reading Arenson's work, and now I would definitely read more.
This is a story of a boy and a mouse, Cade and his twin sister Tasha, in an epic journey to save Earth by traveling across Dream in into the heart of Nightmare.

Knowing that it is a stand-alone story, I didn’t want it to end. I loved the incredible landscapes and inhabitants of the Dream and Nightmare worlds; the author wrote just enough to let my imagination run wild.
Since I cannot speak for any other person about how they enjoyed this book, I will speak of my own experience reading it.
This book has a rough start. I had a tremendous time trying to get through the book, but I am extremely happy I pushed through it. The beginning seemed to be like reading a child's story with adult clothing on it and I was not taken. The storyline seemed too strange and too childish (with Talon and Sunflower visiting Dandelion Hill and Beluga Beach...) but then once the actual plot-line starts picking up and the adventure kicks in, it still seemed too terrible to read. But suddenly the gods of dream start entering and darker tones started to emerge, it was like a switch suddenly turned and the book became truly interesting and hard to put down. The various gods of both Dream and Nightmare seemed to have Greek Mythology references and that was very appealing to me. The storyline was easy to follow and while some scenes of action seemed too rushed in some areas and too dragged out in others, overall it was a great read.
If you enjoy some of Daniel Arenson's other books or fantasies in general then I recommend this book. However unappealing it may seem in the beginning it will be worth it to push through.
Daniel Arenson's The Gods of Dream is a marvelous tale of two war-torn orphans whose lives are turned upside down when a hawk named Windwhisper comes to them for help. Windwhisper tells them that the land of Dream is in dire trouble, and only the orphans can save it. Dream is the land where humans' dreams come from. Sitting alongside of Dream is Nightmare. If Nightmare, ruled by Phobetor, takes control of Dream, those of Earth will die from their nightmares.

This book is masterfully crafted and sits in the vein of Tolkien and Lewis. Arenson's descriptions pull you into the book and allow you to follow the adventures of Cade and Tasha -- as well as Harmony, Starlight, Moonmist and Yor.

It is a tale of heroism personified. You won't regret reading this book.
I'm always amazed by authors who can create such intricate fantasy worlds, and Arenson is masterful in this regard. During this novel's journey, I felt as though I'd really traveled to the world of Dream, and I loved every moment of it. In a matter of pages, I realized that this story was filled with possibilities and mythology, and I liked the idea that in order for Cade and Tasha to embrace their real lives in spite of a painful past, they had to save another world and that act would give them the strength they needed. I don't often forget about the world I'm in, but The Gods of Dream swept me away. I'm looking forward to more of Arenson's work.
I've followed Daniel throughout his Earthrise series (and that's a really good series, by the way) saw him mention this book, and thought I'd give it a shot. I'm not a fan of fantasy, but this book is really well done. It is sweet and sad and good it feels a little raw, which is not a bad thing at all. Highly recommended!
"Hope springs eternal" . Liked the story plot ...the tale had both dark and light. I just felt that I got drug down toward the middle and almost put the book down unfinished and walked away. Decided to keep going and glad I did as Cades quest began to pull itself up and inspire me to continue reading. We still have our dreams!
